I used the yahoo default league scoring to judge who had the best roto performance among all NHL rookies through December.Goals/Assists/Plus-Minus/Power Play Points/PIMS/Shots on Goal
Now these rankings are not on projected basis or positional importance. They are based on who actually performed the best in the roto categories amongst all NHL rookies in October.
Kris Versteeg was the biggest beneficiary of Derrick Brassard's injury as it allowed him to leap Brassard and occupy the top slot in the roto rankings through December.
1. Kris Versteeg (Chi - RW)
2. Patrick Berglund (StL - C)
3. Derrick Brassard (CBJ - C)
4. Bobby Ryan (Ana - RW)
5. Blake Wheeler (Bos - LW)
6. Mikael Grabovski (Tor - C)
7. Alex Goligoski (Pit - D)
8. Michael Frolik (Fla - C)
9. Mikkel Boedker (Phx - RW)
10. Troy Brouwer (Chi - LW)
11. Jakub Voracek (CBJ - RW)
12. James Neal (Dal - LW)
13. Oscar Moller (LAK - RW)
14. Steven Stamkos (TB - C)
15. Drew Doughty (LAK - D)
16. Nikolai Kulemin (Tor - LW)
17. Jannik Hansen (Van - RW)
18. Matt Hunwick (Bos - D)
19. BJ Crombeen (STL - RW)
20. Kyle Okposo (NYI- RW)
21. Kyle Turris (Phx - C)
22. Benoit Pouliout (Min - C)
23. Thomas Pilhal (SJS - C)
24. Fabian Brunnstrom (Dal - LW)
25. Kevin Porter (Phx - C)
Bubble: Matt D'Agostini, Viktor Tikhonov, Brandon Sutter, Jesse Winchester
Now this is the result of weighting all categories equally which rotisserie rankings do. Being number one in goal scoring is the same as being number one in penalty minutes. It is one of the reasons I don't believe in PIMs in Fantasy Hockey.
