December Rotisserie Rankings - Defense

I used the yahoo default league scoring to judge who had the best roto performance among all NHL defencemen through December.

Goals/Assists/Plus-Minus/Power Play Points/PIMS/Shots on Goal

Now these rankings are not on projected basis or positional importance. They are based on who actually performed the best in the roto categories amongst all NHL rookies in October.

Sheldon Souray has returned to the fantasy elite and leads all defensemen in December, a fantasy superstar because they only count half the game.

1. Sheldon Souray (Edm - D)
2. Rob Blake (SJ - D)
3. Shea Weber (Nas - D)
4. Zdeno Chara (Bos - D)
5. Dion Phaneuf (Cgy - D)
6. Dan Boyle (SJS - D)
7. Chris Pronger (Ana - D)
8. Jay Bouwmeester (Fla - D)
9. Scott Niedermayer (Ana - D)
10. Ed Jovanovski (Phx - D)
11. Nicklas Lidstrom (Det - D)
12. Mark Streit (NYI - D)
13. Pavel Kubina (Tor - D)
14. Dennis Wideman (Bos - D)
15. Andrei Markov (Mtl - D)
16. Joe Corvo (Car - D)
17. Duncan Keith (Chi - D)
18. Kevin Bieksa (Van - D)
19. Brian Rafalski (NJ - D)
20. Lubomir Visnovsky (Edm- D)
21. Kyle Quincey (LAK - D)
22. Ryan Suter (Nas - D)
23. Joni Pitkanen (Car - D)
24. Mike Commodore (CBJ - D)
25. Kimmo Timmonen (Phi - D)

Bubble: Bryan McCabe, Ron Hainsey, Michael Rozsival, Marc Edouard Vlasic, Brian Campbell, John Michael Liles, Jaroslav Spacek, Tomas Kaberle, Filip Kuba

Now this is the result of weighting all categories equally which rotisserie rankings do. Being number one in goal scoring is the same as being number one in penalty minutes. It is one of the reasons I don't believe in PIMs in Fantasy Hockey.
